October Update - Preparing To Ship the Oasis Tables
Hi Everyone. So far these updates have focused on the process of taking a prototype and turning it into a product that we can reliably build thousands of. We’ve built a supply chain from the ground up, worked through scaling production, sent out two rounds of beta testing units, and now we’re producing nearly 100 Oasis Tables a day.
All of you have given us feedback on product add-ons, packaging, and the testers among you have helped us continuously refine the product and software. I’ve got a few photos and a video from our latest beta testing below.
That brings us to the next phase of this project, which is logistics. Getting thousands of tables delivered to all of you involves coordination of freight shipping, warehousing, import customs and final delivery. This process is well underway, and I’m excited to report that the first full container of Oasis Coffee Tables is on a boat headed to our West Coast warehouses. This container is filled with 168 Oasis Coffee Tables, and we’re expecting to send out 2 to 3 full shipping containers every week going forward.
The Oasis Tables are made in Vietnam and shipped in containers to warehouses throughout the US and Canada. For those of you who are curious about how efficient ocean freight is, an Oasis Coffee Table costs us about $35 to ship by boat and about $400 to ship by air.
On a good day it takes about 4 weeks for a container to get from our manufacturer to our warehouses. On a bad day it can take 6 - 8 weeks. Usually the transit times are somewhat predictable based on the time of year, but the ongoing trade war has made this year very unusual.
The first shipment containing 168 Oasis Coffee Tables is expected to arrive and begin shipping to customers in about 4 weeks. From there, we expect a steady stream of deliveries as we work towards fulfilling all orders.
Once shipping begins many of you are going to wonder where you are in the shipping queue. It’s always tricky to give exact dates, but there are several details that should help here. First off, you will receive an email with tracking information when your table ships. Next, we will be posting shorter and more frequent timeline updates.

As we enter the logistics phase of this project, our priority is sending out clear and frequent updates to ensure that all of you have a clear sense of when your table will be delivered. We think the tables have turned out great, and we’re very excited to deliver them to all of you.
