First Batch Coming Soon and a Timeline Update!

First Batch Coming Soon and a Timeline Update!

Hi Everyone. I hope you all enjoyed the holidays or at least got through them relatively unscathed. We’re getting ready to ship the first Oasis Minis and have a timeline update for you!

Current Timeline

Over the next couple of days we’ll be selecting around 50 beta testers for the first Oasis Minis. They’ll receive some of the very first production Minis, and we’re looking forward to receiving their feedback and making any last-minute improvements for all of you. Hopefully, they share some photos and videos of their first units as well!

We’re expecting the first big batch of 1000-2000 units to arrive by the end of January. Our warehouse will need a few days to get everything setup, and we expect to ship the first big batch to backers in early February. Those units will go to backers in the US mostly on a first-come first-serve basis.

Some of you may know that we used Kickstarter and Indiegogo for pre-orders before moving to our own site. That does mean that backers on Kickstarter and Indiegogo are first in line, but the wait shouldn't be long for all of you either! We estimated April delivery for pre-orders here, and that's still looking good.

On the hardware side of things, we’re pretty much done. This week we received a prototype that uses all of the exact hardware parts that we expect to use for all of your Minis. Here’s a close-up glamour shot.

It probably looks the same to you as all of the other photos we’ve shown, and that’s kind of the point. The key difference is that this Oasis Mini uses components and processes built for high-volume production instead of the 3D printed and artisanally assembled units that we’ve shown before.

On the software side, we have a working Android app and are working on getting approval for the iOS app store. We plan on starting to incorporate the app into some of our social media videos, and the main feedback we’re looking for from beta testers is regarding app stability and usability.

That’s all for this update! As always, get in touch if you have any comments, questions, or just want to chat. Happy New Year!
