Oasis Minis Delivered! First Impressions and What’s Next

Hi everyone! It's been a little longer than usual since our last update - close to four weeks instead of two or three we aim for. We sincerely apologize for the wait, but we're thrilled to share some exciting news with you all!

First Batch of Oasis Minis Delivered!

We reached a big milestone this week and delivered the first batch of 50 Oasis Minis to our volunteer beta testers. We called these “beta units”, but in practice, the hardware is identical to the production units, and they only feature small cosmetic and packaging differences. Here’s a collage of a few photos the beta testers shared with us!

First Impressions

On the hardware side of things, they’re very positive! Here are a few testimonials from beta testers.

On the software side, experiences vary. While some users have had a smooth experience, others have encountered some hiccups. This is to be expected and much of the reason that beta testing is important before shipping out units to regular backers, but it does mean that there’s still work to be done. We’re working around the clock to squash the remaining bugs and are optimistic that the majority of them will be resolved soon.

In parallel, we're ramping up production and planning to produce 5000 units by the middle of March. Each will leave the factory after being upgraded with the latest and greatest firmware version. In your order confirmation email, you'll see your estimated delivery date, and those dates remain accurate.

That’s all for this update! Delivering the first 50 production units was a big milestone for us, and while zero bugs would have been nice, it’s unfortunately not the reality of software development. As always, please get in touch if you have any questions, comments, or just want to chat.
