500 Oasis Minis Delivered and Many More to Come
First and foremost, we want to extend our deepest thanks to each of you for your patience and support through this journey. It’s hard to believe we’re approaching the end of March already. Time flies as they say; hopefully, the wait is also flying by. Let’s get right into it.
The first 500 Production Oasis Minis were Delivered to Kickstarter Backers!
We crossed a major milestone and shipped the first 500 production Oasis Minis to Kickstarter backers. Many pieces had to come together to reach this milestone including material sourcing, manufacturing, freight shipping, software development, and small parcel delivery. Now the task becomes ramping up production and delivering your Oasis Minis to all of you. Here’s what some backers had to say about the first deliveries.
Was everything perfect? Not entirely - but our support team was standing by to assist and our engineering team quickly root-caused and made repairs were necessary. Overall, we’re thrilled with the performance of the first production batch and expect that things will only become smoother and more reliable going forward.
Timeline update
We’ve placed purchase orders for over 20,000 Oasis Minis which more than covers all of the pre-orders. As a result, we have the highest level of clarity regarding shipping timelines to date.
We expect to receive the 20,000 Oasis Minis in May and June. For those of you in the April shipping batch, It is possible that we will have a slight delay for some pre-orders. If there are delays associated with your order, we will email you directly with a new timeline estimate and additional options for your order.
App Improvements and Pattern Preview
The app was only published in February, and we’ve already released 5 updates each of which add new features and upgrades. There’s still a lot of room for improvement, but recently we’ve added:
- A feature that allows you to pause between tracks and enjoy the design
- A feature that will automatically add a spiral between tracks which cleans the canvas for the next design
- Improvements to network connectivity
- A repeat feature that will allow your Oasis Mini to run continuously
There are many more features in the pipeline, and soon we’ll be releasing the ability to upload your own designs as well as a short in-app tutorial. Many of you have asked to be able to see the list of available designs without having your Oasis Mini yet. The developers tell me it’s surprisingly challenging to implement that feature, so what I’ve done instead is prepare a short video that scrolls through some of our existing patterns.
